 You don't need an expensive professional studio setup to lay down a great vocal take. With a few DIY tricks, your smartphone can capture clean, clear audio.

Quick setup tips for your phone:


Use Wired Earphones: Skip wireless Bluetooth mics due to latency and compression. Use a pair of wired earphones with an in-line mic, holding the built-in microphone capsule roughly 4 to 6 inches from your mouth.

Treat Your Room: Stand in a walk-in closet, near a clothing rack, or between heavy curtains. Soft fabrics absorb room echoes and stop your vocals from sounding boxy or distant.
